Let's Talk About Hair Loss

Hair loss can happen from time to time and is often a very sensitive topic for both men and women. Hair loss and thinning can happen for a number of different reasons; stress, prescription medications, environmental toxins, health issues, traditional hair dye, low iron levels, just to name a few. It’s often a very stressful situation and sometimes it’s hard to pin down exactly why it is happening.

To support hair loss, we want to work on both the physical and the energetically levels in order to fully heal and promote abundant growth. On an energetic level, hair thinning / loss has to do with your connection to source, your intuition, and your higher self. I recommend getting quiet and meditating or journaling on it. If you’re stuck, here are some journal prompt offerings to get your started:

  • Have you lost your connection to nature/source?

  • Have you lost your connection to yourself?

  • Are you grounded in your body?

  • Are you in a situation where you are betraying yourself or ignoring a sign from your higher self?

  • Are you putting other people before yourself (which is a form of self-betrayal)?

On a physical level, there are products we can turn to that are organic and completely healthy that actually work! After experiencing thinning hair myself due to some health issues, I found this magic organic combo from OWAY that has been a part of my daily routine now for more than a year. Be sure to check out my favorites in the shop for a discount :)

THE SYSTEM

1. MICRO-STIMULATING HAIR BATH

Wash with OWAY’s micro-stimulating hair bath. This stuff not only feels good and tingly on the scalp, it truly does help the hair grow. It uses plant stem cells to help hair at the growth phase and can also be used preventatively. I personally did not start noticing any results until about two months, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t working hard behind the scenes. It works on a deeper, root level.

2. EXFOLIATE

Pair the micro-stimulating hair bath with this inexpensive silicone scalp stimulator. Used with the shampoo, it exfoliates the scalp which helps to promote new growth and helps the plant botanicals soak deeper into the follicles. It’s easy, just shampoo regularly and then scrub the entire head or the affected areas with the exfoliator. You don’t have to press too hard. After exfoliating, let the shampoo sit on the scalp for a couple of minutes so it can really work its magic. Use your favorite OWAY conditioner on the ends and rinse.

3. densifying remedy

Towel dry and spray OWAY’s densifying remedy on the affected areas aka the thinning spots. A little goes a long way. Massage it into your scalp and dry and style as usual. You can also reapply before going to bed, it will not make your hair greasy. If you are experiencing extreme hair loss and thinning, definitely check with your doctor as it could be a sign of a deeper internal issue.
